CERVICAL DISC DISEASE: CAUSES, SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENTS
Cervical disc disease is a condition in which one or more discs in the spine lose strength. Cervical disc disease, despite the name, is not technically a disease. It is a progressive condition that results over time from wear and tear or injury to the cervical spine.
Your discs are located between the vertebrae of your spine, acting as cushions and shock absorbers. Your discs help you sit up straight. They also help you go through everyday movements like twisting.
Over time, cervical disc disease can worsen. It can cause mild to extreme pain that can interfere with your daily activities.

CAUZE
Spinal discs are made up of a soft inner core and a hard outer wall. The discs change in ways that can cause cervical disc disease, such as:
Dehydration. When you are born, the disks in your spine are made up mostly of water. As you get older, they lose water and thin out. Flat disks can’t absorb shocks. Water loss also means less protection between the vertebrae. This can lead to other spinal problems that can cause pain.
Injury. The stress of everyday movements and minor injuries over the years can cause tiny lesions in the outer wall, which contains nerves. Any injuries near the nerves can become painful. If the wall is damaged, the soft nucleus of the disc can slip through the cracks, which is called a slipped or displaced disc, and can damage nearby nerves.
SIMPTOME
You will probably feel a sharp or constant pain around the back of your neck. Your exact symptoms depend on where the loose disk is and other changes it has caused.
Common signs include pain that:
Located in the upper back.
They come and go. They can be painful or severe and can last from a few days to several months.
They become more pronounced when you sit and less when you move or walk.
It is accentuated when you twist your upper abdomen or neck.
It decreases when you change positions or lie down.
In some cases, cervical disc disease can lead to numbness and tingling in the arms. It can also cause the muscles in the upper limbs to weaken. This means that damaged discs can damage nerves in the spinal area.
TREATMENT
If you have cervical disc disease, the first question is whether it can be resolved without surgery. The latest researchers have proven that cervical disc disease can be cured/rectified if appropriate treatment is applied to the affected area. Our experienced neurosurgeons did their research: before treatment, they diagnosed cervical disc disease by MRI and after treatment, they did another MRI. At the last imaging, the condition was significantly cured. The same research has been done in the US. Patients who followed their treatments and took more precautions about their daily activities cured their disc disease, given the MRI scans before and after treatment.
In the clinic, our success rate in treating patients with lumbar disc disease has reached over 95% with our innovative treatment techniques, combining osteopathic procedures, manual therapy and physiotherapy. Patients suffering from pain, numbness, burning sensation and weakness are treated with our revolutionary approach. In conclusion, we NEVER RECOMMEND making a surgical decision before attempting disc rehabilitation.
Treatment usually depends on the level of discomfort you are experiencing and how the disc has migrated out of place.
Most people can improve disc disease by using an appropriate treatment program that targets the source of the problem. This is why it is important to first determine the source of your problems and only then also treat them. We also recommend that you modify the activities of daily living that cause you physical discomfort to protect your disc.
Although it may be tempting to refrain from any physical activity while experiencing the pain or discomfort of disc disease, this can lead to muscle weakness and joint stiffness. Instead, try to stay as active as possible with stretching or low-impact activities such as walking.
