Muscle pain that keeps coming back is your body telling you something is off — posture, movement patterns, or an irritated joint or nerve feeding the tension. Masking it with painkillers works for a day; finding the cause fixes it for good.
What is muscle pain?
Muscle pain (myalgia) is discomfort in one or more muscles. It can be local — a single overworked muscle — or widespread. Very often the painful muscle is only the messenger: the real source is a stiff joint nearby, a postural imbalance, or a nerve that keeps the muscle in protective tension.
Common symptoms
A dull ache or burning in the muscle, tight bands or tender “knots” (trigger points), morning stiffness, pain on movement or pressure, muscles that tire quickly, and everyday tasks — carrying bags, climbing stairs, long desk hours — becoming uncomfortable.
Common causes
Unaccustomed exercise or training without warming up, sedentary work and poor desk posture, accumulated stress, trigger points and chronic contractures, dehydration or mineral deficits, and spinal problems referring pain into the muscles. For office workers in Bucharest, the neck–shoulder–upper back chain is the most common complaint we see.
Can it be treated without surgery?
Yes — muscle pain is never a surgical problem. The challenge is accurate assessment: a muscle treated in isolation, without correcting the posture or joint that overloaded it, will simply tighten up again.
How we treat muscle pain at Medicine Park
We start with a full assessment: pain history, muscle and posture testing, and mapping of the trigger points and muscle chains involved. Your plan may combine manual therapy, chiropractic care, dry needling for trigger points, corrective exercise, and practical posture advice for your workday. Everything happens in English, in one clinic in central Bucharest.
How long does recovery take?
Simple contractures usually settle within a few sessions. Chronic, posture-driven pain may need a structured programme over several weeks. After your first assessment we tell you exactly what to expect.
When to seek help
If muscle pain has lasted more than two weeks, keeps returning to the same spot, wakes you at night, or comes with numbness or tingling — stop putting it off. Your first assessment at Medicine Park is free.
