What physiotherapy can do for you
What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy treats pain and inflammation using physical agents — ultrasound, laser, low-frequency currents, vacuum — applied precisely to the affected area. You rest; the equipment works in the tissue, where hands cannot reach.
The aim is not to mask pain but to open a window in which the body can be moved again without guarding. That is why physiotherapy is almost never done on its own.
Physiotherapy or kinetotherapy — what is the difference?
- Physiotherapy reduces pain and inflammation through physical agents. You are passive.
- Kinetotherapy rebuilds strength, mobility and control through exercise. You are active.
Physiotherapy alone calms the symptom but does not change the cause — the pain returns when you go back to the same movements. Kinetotherapy alone is hard to start when it hurts too much to move. Together they work, and both are included in the same per-session price.
The physiotherapy we use
- Ultrasound — high-frequency vibration that warms tissue at depth; for tendinopathy, muscle tightness and fibrosed scar tissue.
- Therapeutic laser — light energy that stimulates cell repair and reduces local inflammation, with no heat and no pain.
- Electrotherapy — currents that reduce pain and reactivate muscle inhibited after injury or surgery.
- Vacuum with electrotherapy — negative pressure combined with current, for deep areas that are hard to reach by hand.
- IASTM — instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation, for adhesions and stiff fascia.
- Theragun percussive therapy — for muscle tightness and to prepare tissue before exercise.
- BTL lymphatic drainage — compression therapy for oedema and swollen legs; see also lymphatic drainage.
- Dry needling and manual therapy — for trigger points and joint restriction.
What is used in your session is decided at the assessment, not from a standard package.
After a physiotherapy session: what is normal and what is not
Normal in the first 24–48 hours: local or general tiredness, mild tenderness in the treated area, and sometimes a temporary increase in pain after the first sessions — the tissue has been stimulated and is responding. Mild redness after vacuum or IASTM belongs here too.
Not normal — tell us: pain that increases steadily from session to session, new numbness or pins and needles travelling down a limb, sudden swelling, fever, or dizziness that does not settle within a few minutes.
What not to do straight after a session: avoid intense exercise or heavy lifting the same day; do not ice an area that has just been warmed by ultrasound unless we told you to; do not skip your home exercises — they are what holds the gain; drink water and let the body work.
If you felt unwell after a session, tell us exactly what you felt and when. The dose gets adjusted, not abandoned.
How long does a session take?
A session usually runs 45 to 60 minutes, depending on how many procedures are in the plan. Your first visit is longer because it includes the assessment — and the assessment is free.
What does a session cost?
- Single session: 250 RON — the initial consultation is still free.
- 10-session package: 150 RON per session (1,500 RON total).
- 15-session package: 135 RON per session (2,025 RON total).
One price includes everything applied in the session — at least four procedures, nothing billed separately. Packages never expire. See all prices.
Insurance and referrals
We do not work with the Romanian state health insurance system (CNAS/CASMB), so no referral is needed. In exchange we do not split a session between several patients and there is no annual cap on sessions. On request we provide documents for a private insurer.
Physiotherapy for the spine
The spine is the number one reason patients come to us. We work regularly on neck pain, back pain, cervical herniated disc, lumbar spondylosis and low back pain.
On the spine, physiotherapy opens the door and kinetotherapy keeps it open: without the exercise component, spinal pain almost always returns.
