What kinetotherapy can do for you
What is kinetotherapy?
Kinetotherapy is therapy through movement: therapeutic exercise selected, dosed and corrected by a specialist to rebuild muscle strength, joint mobility and correct movement patterns. Unlike a gym session, every exercise has a clinical reason behind it and changes as your body responds.
In English you will often hear it called therapeutic exercise, or the exercise half of physiotherapy. It is the backbone of any serious rehabilitation programme.
Kinetotherapy or physiotherapy — what is the difference?
They are complementary, not interchangeable.
- Kinetotherapy works through movement. You perform the exercises, guided by the therapist.
- Physiotherapy works through physical agents — ultrasound, laser, currents — applied to the affected area while you rest.
In practice pain drops faster with physiotherapy, and the result holds through kinetotherapy. At Medicine Park you do not have to choose: both are included in the same per-session price.
What a kinetotherapy programme includes
- Medical gymnastics — targeted exercise for a specific joint or muscle group.
- Spinal exercise — lumbar and cervical stabilisation, and control of everyday movement.
- Stretching and mobilisation — for tissue elasticity and joint range.
- Resistance band work — finely dosed progressive load, used heavily in shoulder and knee rehab.
- Postural re-education — correcting the patterns that caused the pain, so it does not return.
- Post-operative rehabilitation — staged protocols aligned with your surgeon’s instructions.
- Kinesio taping — support between sessions, without restricting movement.
Who delivers the treatment
Your kinetotherapist is a licensed specialist who assesses, designs and runs the exercise programme. This is not personal training: the assessment starts from your medical history, your imaging and what the clinical examination finds.
Who is kinetotherapy for?
- Recovery after orthopaedic surgery — knee replacement, hip replacement, meniscus and ligament repairs
- Spinal conditions: herniated disc, low back pain, neck pain
- Chronic joint pain: osteoarthritis, knee pain
- Poor posture and desk-related pain
- Athletes — injury recovery and prevention of recurrence
Kinetotherapy for children and teenagers
We also work with children and teenagers. The most common reasons are scoliosis and postural imbalances picked up at a school check, back pain from heavy school bags and long hours at a desk, and injuries from junior competitive sport.
The approach is the same — assessment first, programme second — but the session is built differently: shorter, more varied, with exercises a child can repeat at home unsupervised.
What a session looks like at Medicine Park
You work one-to-one with your therapist on a programme built for you. Every exercise is demonstrated, corrected in real time and progressed as your body responds. Within the same session your therapist may also use manual therapy, physiotherapy or dry needling if your case calls for it — at no extra cost.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the condition, how long you have had it and how consistent you are. As a rough guide: a recent acute problem often responds within 5–10 sessions; a chronic spinal condition or a post-operative recovery is usually worked over 10–15 sessions or more, with reassessment along the way.
At the free assessment we tell you how many sessions we expect and how we will know the plan is working. If we cannot help you, we say that too.
What does a session cost?
- Single session: 250 RON — the initial consultation is still free.
- 10-session package: 150 RON per session (1,500 RON total).
- 15-session package: 135 RON per session (2,025 RON total).
One price covers everything done in the session — nothing is billed separately, and packages never expire. See all prices.
Insurance and referrals
We do not work with the Romanian state health insurance system (CNAS/CASMB), so you do not need a referral to book with us. We invest the whole session in one patient, and there is no annual cap on sessions. On request we provide the documents you need for a private insurer.
